Facilities & Asset Development

Did You Know?
Research by Community Leisure UK found that over 400 public leisure facilities were at risk of permanent closure following the pandemic. Community Asset Transfers (CATs) have become a key solution, with over 600 facilities transferred into community ownership across Scotland and England in the past decade.

Who We've Helped
We helped establish Grangemouth Community Sports Trust with the specific purpose of taking forward a Community Asset Transfer of Grangemouth Stadium, providing the governance and planning framework needed to progress such a major project. Beyond this, we have delivered feasibility studies and cost–benefit analyses for a range of other clubs, giving them the evidence required to test ideas, attract funding, and make informed decisions about facility development. Our experience spans both grassroots clubs and larger community trusts, meaning we understand the practical challenges of taking on facilities and can provide solutions that are realistic, sustainable, and investment-ready.

Our Services
We provide end-to-end support for clubs looking to develop or take ownership of facilities. This includes guidance on Community Asset Transfers, where we lead clubs through business planning, consultation, and negotiations to secure long-term control of facilities.
We also deliver feasibility studies and financial modelling, helping clubs test their ideas, reduce risk, and build confidence with funders.
Alongside this, we advise on facility design and development, working with trusted partners to deliver cost-effective, fit-for-purpose solutions for projects ranging from modular clubhouses to floodlighting.
Finally, we support governing bodies and local authorities with strategic facility planning, ensuring investment is targeted where it can create the greatest community benefit.
Together, these services help clubs turn ambition into reality, creating facilities that not only serve sporting needs but also become valuable, sustainable assets for the whole community.
We support clubs applying for Community Asset Transfers, guiding them through the complexities of business planning, community consultation, and negotiations with local authorities. CATs give clubs long-term control over facilities, unlocking funding opportunities and protecting them against closures.
Before committing to major projects, we help clubs test their ideas with feasibility studies and financial modelling. These studies give funders confidence, reduce risks, and ensure projects are realistic and sustainable.
From modular clubhouses to floodlighting, security, or stands, we work with trusted partners to provide cost-effective solutions for facility development. Our expertise ensures projects meet both sporting and community needs.
We also advise local authorities and governing bodies on sport facility strategies, ensuring that community clubs have access to fit-for-purpose spaces and that investment is directed where it can make the biggest impact.
