Why Every Club Needs a Fundraising Complaints Policy

ree

Grassroots clubs are brilliant at mobilising their communities to raise funds — but are we as good at handling the tough conversations that come with fundraising?

From 2025, the Fundraising Regulator requires all organisations (including partners you work with) to have a public, accessible complaints procedure.

That means if your club runs a raffle, crowdfunder, or donor appeal, you need to show supporters how they can raise a concern and how it will be resolved.

It sounds small, but it’s powerful: a clear process builds trust with your community, helps protect volunteers, and keeps you compliant.

👉 Our tip: Write a simple, one-page policy, post it on your website, and brief your committee and fundraising leads.
