About Club Development Solutions
Club Development Solutions was founded on a straightforward observation: the support that community sports clubs need to become sustainable is not difficult to provide. It is simply not being provided to enough of them.
Most clubs are run by dedicated volunteers who care deeply about their sport and their community.
Very few of them have a background in charity law, HMRC regulations, or grant funding. And the organisations that do exist to help grassroots sport rarely have the capacity or the specialist expertise to help clubs navigate those areas in any depth.
That is the gap Club Development Solutions was built to fill.

Who we are
Club Development Solutions was founded by Dr. Andrew Jenkin, a Sport Management lecturer at the University of Stirling with over a decade of specialist experience working with sports clubs on legal structures, funding, taxation, and governance.
Andrew holds a doctorate in sport management and brings both academic rigour and hands-on regulatory expertise to the work, a combination that is rare in a sector where most advice comes either from generalist business consultants or from sport development programmes with limited technical depth.
Club Development Solutions is a member of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising and is a registered HMRC agent, meaning we operate under professional obligations and regulatory oversight that give the clubs we work with genuine confidence in the quality and compliance of what we produce.
Our work so far and how we work
We take time to understand each club's situation before recommending anything. The right structure, the right services, and the right timing will look different for a newly formed football club with 80 members than for an established swimming club considering taking on a community asset.
We do not apply a template. We listen, we advise honestly, and we work at a pace that fits the committee's capacity. Most of the clubs we work with are run entirely by volunteers who already have full-time jobs, and we design our support around that reality.
