Our Work

The clubs we work with are all different: different sports, different sizes, different stages of development, and different challenges. What they have in common is a committee that wants to do right by their members and build something that lasts.

Below are a few examples of the work we have done together.

What We Do

Tailored Financial Solutions for Your Family

01

Forth Valley Tridents: Merger and Charitable Incorporation

We supported Scottish Swimming and three Falkirk-based clubs (Falkirk Otter, Tryst, and Alloa ASC) in forming the Forth Valley Tridents. This involved helping three separate clubs merge under a unified charitable structure, advising on the transition to a new operational model, supporting sustainable financial planning, and helping the clubs align their vision for long-term development. The result was a stronger, better-resourced organisation with a clear governance foundation.

02

Athena Glasgow: Incorporation, Gift Aid, and Digital Presence

We provide ongoing support to Athena Glasgow Women & Girls Academy to strengthen their structure, funding, and digital reach. Our work has included establishing the club as a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation, supporting HMRC registration for Gift Aid, and securing new funding opportunities to support ongoing club development.

03

Gala Fairydean Rovers Community Trust: Gift Aid Registration & Backdated Claims

We worked with Gala Fairydean Rovers Community Trust to secure HMRC recognition for Gift Aid, guiding them through the registration process and ensuring all eligibility requirements were met. Once approved, we helped them backdate their claim by four years, recovering income that would otherwise have gone unclaimed.

04

Grangemouth Community Sports Trust: Community Asset Transfer, Governance, and Funding

We supported GCST through a Community Asset Transfer, establishing a SCIO with a constitution designed specifically for a club taking on long-term responsibility for community facilities. Our work included developing governance policies, supporting grant funding applications, completing Gift Aid registration, and providing ongoing board support covering minute-taking, annual reports, and AGM administration. For a new board taking on a significant community asset, having that governance and administrative support in place allowed trustees to focus on their strategic responsibilities with confidence.

Case study

Gala Fairydean Rovers CT x CDS

Club Development Solutions has helped Gala Fairydean Rovers Community Trust unlock around £20,000 in Gift Aid.

The Trust was set up in 2020 and is run entirely by volunteers. Gift Aid administration was a challenge in its early years.

"Within a fortnight Andrew had streamlined our system and taken a lot of weight off our shoulders," said Dave Scott, Trustee. "Within a month he had helped us frame new policies and backdate our first claim right back to the incorporation of the Trust."

The Trust has reinvested the money in new academy equipment, coaching qualifications for volunteers, para, walking and girls' football, and reserves for future projects. It also runs a match funding scheme, matching what teams raise through football cards, bag packing and sponsored runs.

CDS continues to support the Trust with governance, policy and updates on legal changes. Andrew also sponsors matches and funds an advertising board at the ground.

"We look forward to continuing to work with Club Development Solutions in the years ahead," Dave said.
