We were absolutely delighted to support Murieston United Community Football Club on their journey to becoming a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) – a major milestone that will help secure the club’s future and expand its impact in the community.

Working closely with the club, our team at Club Development Solutions provided hands-on support to ensure the process was smooth, strategic, and successful. Together, we:

  • Developed a SCIO-appropriate constitution tailored to the club’s ambitions

  • Liaised with OSCR throughout the application process

  • Delivered a bespoke Trustee training session focused on compliance and good governance

The result? Murieston United is now a fully registered charity – opening up exciting new funding opportunities, enhancing community partnerships, and strengthening the club’s long-term sustainability.

This announcement came alongside even more fantastic news for the club, as they also secured a 25-year lease with West Lothian Council, guaranteeing long-term access to their facilities and empowering their future planning.

Chairperson Ciera Venables summed it up perfectly:

"This is a monumental moment for the club. Securing our long-term home and becoming a charity in the same week demonstrates our commitment to building a sustainable, inclusive football community."

We’re proud to have played a part in this brilliant success story and look forward to seeing Murieston United go from strength to strength in the years ahead.
